More Impaired Drivers Arrested

(THUNDER BAY, ON) � On October 2nd, 2024 at approximately 6:47 a.m., officers from the Thunder Bay Detachments of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to a motor vehicle collision along Highway 61, near Arthur Street, within the City of Thunder Bay.
Through the investigation, it was determined that one of the drivers involved in the collision had been consuming alcoholic beverages, was placed under arrest & returned to the detachment for further tests.
As a result of the investigation, Leonard BEAVER, 42, of Webequie First Nation was charged with:
Operation while impaired � blood alcohol concentration (80 plus);
Operation while impaired � alcohol and drugs;
The accused has been released from custody & is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Thunder Bay on November 6th, 2024.
(THUNDER BAY, ON) � Furthermore, on that same day, October 2nd, 2024 at approximately 4:13 p.m., officers from the Thunder Bay Detachment & Traffic Incident Management & Enforcement (TIME) team of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle along Highway 11-17, within the City of Thunder Bay.
Through the investigation, the driver was subsequently placed under arrest after refusing to provide a breath sample into an approved screening device (ASD).
As a result of the investigation, Michael VLASSOFF, 37, of Thunder Bay was charged with:
Failure or refusal to comply with demand;
Fail to Comply with Probation Order;
Possession of Firearm or Ammunition contrary to Prohibition Order;
Unauthorized Possession of a Weapon;
The accused has been released from custody & is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Thunder Bay on November 6th, 2024.
