(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON) � Members of the City of Kawartha Lakes Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) entered into an impaired driving investigation on October 9, 2024, following a traffic complaint in Mariposa Township.
On October 9, 2024, at approximately 2:03 p.m., officers responded to Grant Drive, Mariposa Township, for a traffic complaint of a possible impaired driver. Officers attended the area and located the vehicle. Through investigation the driver was arrested for Impaired Driving Offences.
Gary CARMICHAEL, 69-year-old of Lindsay, was charged with:
Operation While Impaired � alcohol and drugs
Operation While Impaired Blood Alcohol Concentration over 80
The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay at a later date. The motor vehicle was towed and impounded for 7 days.
If you plan on drinking or consuming drugs, plan to not drive. Instead, arrange for a designated driver, take a taxi or public transit, or come up with another plan that takes impaired driving out of the picture.
