(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) � Two individuals have been charged in relation to an active home invasion investigation in Simcoe, while a third suspect remains at large.

At approximately 10:54 p.m. on Sunday, October 13, 2024, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment responded to a home invasion on Grove Street in Simcoe, Norfolk County.

It was determined that three individuals unlawfully entered a residence on the property, where they interacted with seven occupants, some of whom reported minor injuries. The suspects were also armed with what appeared to be firearms during the incident.



Afterward, they fled the scene in a red sedan.

Around 10:32 a.m. on Thursday, October 17, 2024, the Norfolk County OPP Crime Unit executed a search warrant at a residence on Lockie Drive in Oshawa, Ontario.

As a result, two of the suspects were taken into custody without incident.

During the search of the residence and property, investigators located and seized a replica firearm along with the vehicle involved in the incident.

Charged with the following alleged offences is 24-year-old Akhil KRISHNAN of Oshawa, Ontario:

Assault (two counts),
Break, enter a dwelling house with intent to commit indictable offence,
Firearm � use while committing offence,
Forcible confinement (seven counts),
Mischief � obstructs, interrupts, or interferes with the lawful use, enjoyment or operation of property (two counts),
Occupant of motor vehicle knowing there was prohibited or restricted weapon,
Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose,
Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm.
Charged with the following alleged offences is 26-year-old Ambady SAJEEV of Oshawa, Ontario:

Assault (two counts),
Assault with a weapon,
Break, enter a dwelling house with intent to commit indictable offence,
Firearm � use while committing offence,
Forcible confinement (seven counts),
Mischief � obstructs, interrupts, or interferes with the lawful use, enjoyment or operation of property (two counts),
Occupant of motor vehicle knowing there was prohibited or restricted weapon,
Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose,
Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm,
Uttering threats � cause death or bodily harm (two counts).
The accused individuals remain in custody and are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on Tuesday, October 29, 2024.

Efforts to identify and locate the third suspect, who is described as a heavy-set male, are still underway.
