(PENETANGUISHENE, ON) On November 27th, 2024 at around 5:15 p.m., members of the Southern Georgian Bay detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police(OPP) responded to a dispute at a residence on Lepage Drive in Penetanguishene. While attempting to resolve the matter, officers learned that one of the involved parties left the area in a vehicle and was believed to be impaired.

Officers located the driver at a residence on Champlain Road in Penetanguishene and noted signs of impairment. The individual was placed under arrest and transported to detachment for further tests.

As a result of this investigation, Chad Mathieson, 51 years of Penetanguishene, faces the following charge contrary to the Criminal Code:

Impaired Operation � Alcohol and Drugs
The accused was released from custody to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Midland on December 12, 2024. When charged with impaired driving, the driver�s license of the accused is suspended for 90 days and the vehicle they were operating is impounded for 7 days.
