(INNISFIL, ON) � Police have laid charges in relation to an August incident in the Town of Innisfil, in which the province�s Special Investigations Unit (SIU) had invoked its mandate.
On August 15, 2024, around 2:40 p.m., South Simcoe Police Service (SSPS) officers responded to an altercation near Shoreview Drive, between Whitecap Drive and Dalkab Crescent. At the SSPS�s request, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) began investigating the circumstances leading up to the SSPS�s arrival and the immediate situation at the scene when officers got there.
As a result of the investigation, on December 4, 2024, Dylan HATTON, 19 years old from Innisfil, has been arrested and charged with the following Criminal Code offences:
Assault Causing Bodily Harm, as per section 267(b)
Assault with a Weapon, as per section 267(a)
Assault Peace Officer with a Weapon, as per section 270.01(1) � four counts
Dangerous Operation of Motor Vehicle, as per section 320.13(1)
The accused has been released and is scheduled to appear in Bradford Provincial Court on January 2, 2025.
