(KIRKLAND LAKE, ON) � One individual has been charged with breaching release conditions and weapons offences.

On January 4, 2025, at approximately 9:45 p.m., the Kirkland Lake Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting general patrol on Government Road in Kirkland Lake, when an officer observed a person known to be breaching their release conditions.

Upon being advised they were under arrest, the individual fled from police discarding a replica handgun and bear spray onto the ground, the person then surrendered to police.

As a result of the investigation, Mitchell LAMBERT, a 26-year-old of Kirkland Lake was charged for the following:

� Failure to comply with undertaking

� Fail to comply with probation order

� Possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition order- two counts

� Carry concealed prohibited device or ammunition

� Possession of a prohibited device or ammunition

� Resist peace officer

The accused was remanded into custody and is next scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Kirkland Lake on February 27, 2025.
