Arrested on warrants
On the 6th of March, members of the Belleville Police arrested two people on outstanding arrest warrants throughout the day.
At 1:30pm, officers were called to an apartment building in the citys east end regarding a female who was unwelcome in the building and removing all of her clothing while in the lobby. Upon arrival, the female provided officers with her sisters name. Officers continued their investigation into the females identity. A short time later, two additional officers attended and immediately recognized the female from previous incidents. With the correct name, officers discovered that the 42-year-old female of no fixed address was wanted on two arrest warrants for failing to attend court and an outstanding bench warrant. She was arrested without incident and held for a bail hearing.
Later in the day at 2:11pm, a Justice of the Peace had issued a bench warrant for a 33-year-old man of no fixed address. At 3:00pm, Belleville Police Service Special Constables working at the Quinte Consolidated Court House on Bridge St. W. located the male at the court house. He was arrested on the strength of the warrant. The original charges were for break and enter, fail to comply with a probation order and failing to attend court. He was held in custody for a bail hearing.
