(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON) � Members from the City of Kawartha Lakes Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) entered into an impaired driving investigation after receiving information about a vehicle that entered a ditch.



On Thursday March 06, 2025 at approximately 11:21 pm officers responded to reports regarding a motor vehicle that entered a ditch and required a tow truck on White Rock Road in Mariposa Township. The driver was arrested and charged.



Wayde Beckett, 28-year-old of Mariposa Township, was charged with:

Operation while Impaired � Alcohol and Drugs
Operation while Impaired � Blood Alcohol Concentration 80 plus
The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay at a later date. The motor vehicle was towed and impounded for 7 days
