(ALLISTON, ON) � The Nottawasaga Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged one driver for driving while impaired in the Town of New Tecumseth.
On April 07, 2025, shortly after 8:00 p.m., Nottawasaga OPP responded to a traffic complaint of a white pickup truck travelling westbound on 5th Line and 10 Sideroad in New Tecumseth, unable to maintain its lane position.
An officer was in the area, and immediately located this vehicle turning south on to Tottenham Road from 5th Line. The vehicle was confirmed to be the same as the initial complaint and initiated a traffic stop.
The officer issued an Approved Screening Device demand (ASD). Subsequently the driver provided a sample which resulted in a �Fail�.
At 8:12 p.m., the driver: Michael MCGOWAN 42 years-old, of Beeton, was arrested and charge with:
Operation while impaired � blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
Driving motor vehicle with liquor readily available
In addition to the charges, the driver was issued a 90-day license suspension, and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice located in Bradford on May 1, 2025, to answer to the charges.
