(KAPUSKASING, ON) � A traffic stop for a traffic light violation in Kapuskasing led to impaired driving charges.

On Sunday, April 6, 2025, at approximately 12:30 p.m., the James Bay Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped a vehicle on Government Road for failing to stop at an amber light. During the investigation, officers observed signs of impairment and arrested the driver. The individual was transported to the Kapuskasing detachment for further testing.

As a result, Daniel HINCE 58 years-of-age from Kapuskasing, has been charged with:

� Operation while impaired � drug

� Operation while impaired � blood drug concentration

� Amber light � fail to stop

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on May 26, 2025, in Kapuskasing. Additionally, they received a 90-day Administrative Driver�s Licence Suspension (ADLS), and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
