(SPRINGWATER TOWNSHIP, ON) � The Huronia West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged an individual with impaired driving related charges because of a traffic tip.
On April 13, 2025, at approximately 9:00 p.m., Huronia West OPP officers responded to a traffic tip of a possible impaired driver in Springwater Township.
Officers were able to locate the vehicle on Bayfield Street in Barrie. After speaking with the owner/driver, officers noticed an odour of alcohol on the individual�s breath and conducted an impaired driving investigation. As a result of the investigation, Azamat KASSYMBEK, 39-year-old of North York, was arrested and has been charged with the following:
� Operation while Impaired � Alcohol and Drugs
� Failure or Refusal to Comply with Demand
� Driving Motor Vehicle with Open Container of Liquor (LLCA)
The accused is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
