Steven POWER Arrested Following Collision

(KIRKLAND LAKE, ON) � A motor vehicle collision leads to impaired charge for one Toronto resident.

On Sunday March 30,2025, at approximately 6:50 p.m. the Kirkland Lake Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a two-vehicle motor vehicle collision on Wright Hargreaves Avenue, in the Town of Kirkland Lake. The subject motor vehicle had backed into a parked vehicle. Upon speaking with the driver officers determined the individual had consumed an alcoholic beverage. Officers demanded the driver provide a sample of breath into an Approved Screening Device (ASD). The driver refused to provide a sample, the driver was then arrested and taken to a local hospital for monitoring and treatment of minor injuries.

As a result of the investigation, Steven POWER, a 44-year-old from Toronto, has been charged with:

� Operation while impaired by alcohol

� Failure or refusal to comply with demand

The accused was issued a 90-day Administrative Driver�s Licence Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment. The accused was released from custody and is next scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Kirkland Lake on May 15, 2025.

Drivers are reminded that no amount of alcohol or drugs in your system is safe when driving. Whether you are impaired by alcohol or drugs, impaired is impaired and driving under the influence of either is a criminal offence.
