(QUINTE WEST, ON) � One person is facing drug trafficking charges after a search warrant was executed in Quinte West, connected to an incident earlier this week.
On Monday, May 12, 2025, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) East Region Community Street Crime Unit, assisted by the OPP�s Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau, OPP Emergency Response Team and Canine Unit arrested and charged a 26-year-old male for drug and weapons offences.
On Thursday, May 15, 2025, as a result of the ongoing investigation, a search warrant was executed at an apartment on Dundas Street West, in Quinte West where a small quantity of suspected fentanyl was seized. One person was arrested a short time later in downtown Trenton, where officers seized over 4.8 grams of suspected fentanyl, as well as a quantity of suspected heroin.
Katelynn HARPELL, age 29 of Quinte West, has been charged with:
Possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking � seven counts
Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5000
Some of these charges relate to the earlier drug seizure.
The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing before the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on Friday, May 16, 2025.
