$30,000 Drug Bust

(DELAMERE, ON) � Two people are facing multiple charges after the Nipissing West Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a suspicious persons call on Highway 69, leading to the seizure of suspected cocaine, methamphetamine, and cash.
On Friday, May 16, 2025, at approximately 12:00 a.m., officers responded to a 911 call reporting two individuals walking in the middle of the divided portion of Highway 69, approximately 45 kilometres south of Sudbury.
Officers located the individuals, who explained that they had run out of gas and parked their vehicle on the shoulder. The pair were transported back to their vehicle. Upon speaking with the driver, officers observed signs of alcohol consumption. The driver was arrested and transported to the Greater Sudbury Police Service detachment for further testing.
A search of the vehicle, conducted incident to arrest, resulted in the seizure of suspected methamphetamine and cocaine, with an estimated street value of $30,000, along with approximately $2,745 in Canadian currency.
Zachary ANDERSON, 30 years-of-age of Oakville, was charged with:
Operation while impaired � alcohol
Operation while impaired � blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking � methamphetamine
Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking � cocaine
Abas SHIRE, 32 years-of-age of Brampton, was charged with:
Fail to comply with probation order
Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000
Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking � methamphetamine
Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking � cocaine
The accused individuals remain in custody and are scheduled to appear for before the Ontario Court of Justice in Sudbury on May 16, 2025.
