(ESPANOLA, ON) � The Manitoulin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has reopened Highway 6 between Fox Lake Road and Lang Lake Road near Espanola, following a fatal collision that occurred earlier today.
On Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at approximately 1:30 p.m., the Manitoulin OPP and Manitoulin-Sudbury Paramedic Services responded to a three-vehicle collision involving two passenger vehicles and a motorcycle. As a result of the collision, the motorcyclist was transported to hospital by Manitoulin-Sudbury Paramedic Services where they were pronounced deceased.
The investigation remains ongoing with assistance from the OPP North East Region Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement (TIME), Technical Collision Investigators (TCI) and Reconstructionist.
The Office of the Chief Coroner of Ontario � Ontario Forensic Pathology Service (OCCO-OFPS) is assisting, and a post-mortem examination with take place at a later date.
