(PETERBOROUGH COUNTY, ON) � Officers from the Peterborough County detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged an individual after receiving a 911 call related to intimate partner violence (IPV).

On October 23, 2025, just prior to 8:00pm, Peterborough County OPP were dispatched to an address in Peterborough County based on a 911 call that had been received. Call takers received the 911 call, but no one was on the line. The call taker was able to hear a couple arguing in the background with one of the parties crying and asking for their phone. The call taker was able to identify an address based on previous calls from that phone number, so officers were dispatched.



Upon arrival, officers located the accused and after speaking with them, an arrest was made.

A 66-year-old male was arrested and charged with;

� Assault � spousal

� Assault cause bodily harm � choke, suffocate or strangle

� Fail to comply with Probation Order

� Mischief under $5,000

� Uttering threats � cause death or bodily harm

The accused was held for Bail to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough.
