(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) � A young driver is facing charges following an impaired driving investigation in Simcoe.

On Saturday, October 25, 2025, at approximately 12:03 a.m., officers from the Norfolk County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) program on Norfolk Street North in Simcoe when they stopped a vehicle to assess the driver�s sobriety.



Following a roadside sobriety test, the driver was taken into custody without incident.

As a result, 21-year-old Donavan OUWENDYK of Norfolk County was charged with the following alleged offences:

Operation while impaired � blood alcohol concentration (80 plus),
Young driver � B.A.C. above zero,
Driving motor vehicle with open container of liquor.
The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on Tuesday, November 25, 2025.
