(NORFOLK COUNTY) � One individual is in custody following a Criminal Code Search Warrant at a Norfolk County address.
On December 4, 2025, members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Tactics and Rescue Unit (TRU), along with members of the Haldimand Norfolk Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) executed a Criminal Code Search Warrant at a residence on McDowell Road, Simcoe.
Officers located and seized several items of stolen property, prohibited weapons, replica firearms, Canadian currency, a quantity of suspected illicit drugs and drug paraphernalia.
The value of the seized items is over $15,000.
As a result of the investigation, Dalton CHANYI, 29-years-old of Simcoe has been charged with the following Criminal Code offences:
Possession of Firearm or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition order (two counts)
Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose (two counts)
Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000 (two counts)
Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000 (three counts)
Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (two counts)
Trafficking in Property Obtained by Crime (two counts)
Disobeying Court Order
Fail to comply with Release Order
The accused remains in custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on December 9, 2025.
