School Bus Ditched

(OTONABEE-SOUTH MONAGHAN TOWNSHIP, ON) � Members of the Peterborough County detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), attended a report of a school bus that had left the roadway.
On Wednesday January 7, 2026, shortly before 8:00am, the Peterborough County OPP received a call regarding a school bus that had gone off the road into the ditch on Drummond Line in Otonabee-South Monaghan Township. The bus, that was travelling southbound, moved to the right as another vehicle approaching from the opposite direction passed. The bus was pulled into the ditch as its wheel came in contact with the loose snow piled at the side of the road.
The bus was empty at the time of the collision, with the exception of the driver who was uninjured. The roadway was blocked for a length of time while the bus was removed from the ditch.
