(ORILLIA, ON) � Members from the Central Region Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement (TIME) Team, with assistance from the Orillia Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a RIDE program on Neywash Street in Orillia, resulting in the impaired charges for a commercial motor vehicle (CMV) operator.
On Monday, January 12, at approximately 11:50 pm, TIME Team officers stopped a commercial motor vehicle during the RIDE program and determined the driver had consumed alcohol, contrary to zero-tolerance requirements for CMV operators.
As a result of the investigation, David PALMER, 50-years old of Orillia, has been charged with:
� Operation while impaired � blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
� Driving motor vehicle with open container of liquor
� Drive commercial vehicle � improper licence
� Fail to carry complete daily inspection report
The accused was issued a 90-day Administrative Driver�s Licence Suspension, CMV operators� suspension, and the CMV was impounded for seven days.
The accused is schedule to attend court in Orillia on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, to answer to the charges.
