(MISSISSIPPI MILLS TWP, ON) � The Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Tay Valley Township resident with impaired driving.
Lanark County OPP received a call from paramedics on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, just after 9:15 a.m. in the Town of Almonte in reference to two unresponsive people in a vehicle in front of a business. Prior to police arrival the male and female had regained consciousness and left the scene. Officers located the vehicle a short time later and conducted a traffic stop.
The driver was arrested and transported to the OPP Detachment in Carleton Place for testing.
As a result of the investigation, James HENRY, 43-years-old, has been charged with operation while impaired � Drugs.
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on Monday February 23, 2026.
The individual�s driver�s licence has been suspended for 90 days (Administrative Driver�s Licence Suspension), and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
