(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) � An individual has been charged following an assault investigation in Windham Centre.
On Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at approximately 1:03 p.m., members of the Norfolk County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of an assault at a property on Windham East Quarter Line Road in Windham Centre.
The investigation determined that an interaction occurred between two individuals on the property, during which one individual assaulted the other, resulting in minor injuries.
Officers located the suspect at the scene as they attempted to leave the area in the victim�s vehicle. The individual was taken into custody without incident.
As a result, 36-year-old Joshua HANNES of Norfolk County has been charged with the following alleged offences:
Assault with a weapon,
Theft of motor vehicle,
Driving while under suspension,
Fail to comply with Probation order � two counts.
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on Tuesday, March 10, 2026.
