(PETAWAWA, ON) � The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has arrested one individual and seized a prohibited firearms magazine following the execution of a search warrant in the Town of Petawawa.
On Saturday, February 7, 2026, at approximately 11:00 a.m., members of the OPP Tactics and Rescue Unit (TRU), with assistance from the East Region OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT), executed a warrant at a residence on Paardeburg Boulevard.
Mohid KASHIF, 22 years old of Petawawa, has been charged with possession of a prohibited device or ammunition for a dangerous purpose, contrary to section 88 of the Criminal Code.
The ongoing investigation is being carried out by North East Region OPP, and East Region OPP Crime Units under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch.
The accused remains in custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke on February 8, 2026.
