Warrant Arrests
St. Thomas Police officers on general patrol, located a 21-year-old St. Thomas resident, wanted on an outstanding warrant for 7 counts of Failing to Comply with Probation in September of 2025. The individual was arrested, processed at Police Headquarters, and transported to the Elgin County Courthouse for a court appearance. ST26007059, ST25016157
St. Thomas Police officers at the Elgin County Courthouse arrested a 42-year-old St. Thomas resident on an outstanding warrant for Operation while impaired, Possession of a Schedule I Substance, and Failing to Comply with Probation, from May of 2025. The individual was processed and held at courts for a court appearance. ST26007062, ST25007310
Mischief
St. Thomas Police were called to a local school for a disturbance. Upon arrival Police were able to deescalate a situation. As a result of the investigation, a 16-Year-old St. Thomas resident is charged with Mischief- destroys or damages property. ST26007073
Prohibited Drive
St. Thomas Police Officer on general patrol, queried a license plate revealing the registered owner required an ignition interlock device. A traffic stop was conducted, the driver identified themselves as the registered owner, and there was no ignition interlock device installed on the vehicle. As a result, the 60-year-old St. Thomas resident was arrested, charged accordingly, and released with a future court date. The vehicle involved was towed from the area. ST26007088
Thefts
St. Thomas Police are investigating a theft that occurred in the city�s north east side. The complainant came to the station to report their license plates were stolen off their truck while at work. The incident is still under investigation while video footage is being reviewed. ST26007079
St. Thomas Police were called to a West end retailer for a theft. The store staff reported the suspect stole various meat products and left with out paying. The incident is still under investigation, while video is being reviewed. ST26007093
Fraud
St. Thomas Police are investigating a fraud. The victim reports receiving a call from the TD Fraud Department, regarding unusual activity. The caller convinced the victim to deposit 3000$ into a Quebec account number. After the incident the bank was able to freeze accounts to prevent any further transactions. ST26007105
St. Thomas Police wishes to remind the community to beware of unsolicited calls claiming to be from financial institutions, regardless of call display. Scammers can make it seem legitimate. If you receive a call about suspicious transactions or automatic payments, please hang up and contact your bank directly to verify any information.
ASD Alert
While on general patrol, Special Constables observed an individual with an unusual walk after exiting an establishment. The individual was observed getting into a motor vehicle and driving away. The vehicle was located in the area by police, and a traffic stop was conducted. The driver was read an Approved Screening Device demand, and registered an Alert. The driver�s license was seized and the driver was issued a 14-day suspension. A query of the driver, revealed a previous suspension as a result of an ASD Alert in 2023. ST26007117
